Scammers are preying on the misfortunes of homeowners who are struggling to stay afloat. If you’re a homeowner in need of support, get in touch with the Homeowner Help Desk.

The Homeowner Help Desk is a new program that assists homeowners at risk of being displaced from their communities. It currently serves the neighborhoods below in Central Brooklyn, Southeastern Queens, and the North Bronx:

Central Brooklyn

Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Bushwick, Brownsville, East New York, Canarsie, Flatlands, Flatbush, and East Flatbush

Southeast Queens

Cambria Heights, St. Albans, Springfield Gardens/Laurelton, Richmond Hill, South Richmond Hill, Rosedale, Hollis, Queens Village, Jamaica, Rochdale, South Ozone Park, and Far Rockaway

North Bronx

Wakefield, Eastchester, Baychester, Westchester Square, Williamsbridge, Parkchester, and Co-op City

 

Are you a homeowner in need of support?

Call 1-855-HOME-456 or stop by a Help Desk event near you to learn how to:

  • Resolve housing challenges due to COVID-19
  • Apply for zero-to-low cost grants, loans, and other benefits and exemptions
  • Stay out of foreclosure or get legal help
  • Get help with estate planning
  • Avoid contractor and mortgage scams
  • Get financial help for home repairs
  • Manage your home as a small landlord
  • Understand your home’s flood risk
  • Bring mortgage payments under control
  • Reverse mortgage default
  • Property tax and water charges
  • Coop and condo common charges
